The List

So you can't have a blog about a bucket list without starting it off with...a bucket list.

For some reason when I turned 36 I realized that I had been wanting to do certain things all my life, and for whatever reason, I had never done them.  I could always come up with some reason why I shouldn't start this, I shouldn't get involved with that or whatever.  Now...36 years after my coming to this wonderful world and gracing my brother with the world's best sister...I realize...I am not LIVING.  My life isn't going to live itself.  It's not going to get up off the couch and say "HEY! Let's go out and do something different today" and then walk out the front door and come back later for dinner.  No, that's all me baby.  Don't get me wrong.  I am not a couch potato for one and I am not going through a midlife crisis...because quite frankly, I don't believe I have hit my mid life yet.  No, this is just me waking up and realize that I have put everything else in front of what I have wanted to do.

So here it is.  Draft one...with many to follow:

The Bucket List
1. Graduate from college
2. Train for and complete a triathlon
3. Travel to Italy
4. Learn to Crochet better
5. Learn to Knit
6. Learn to play the Cello

It's short but it will grow and it is a start.
So where am I at on my bucket list?  I started college, again, in January of 2010.  I have three years to go.  This has been an ongoing struggle for me to finish.  It is time.  My goal is to be the first person in my family to graduate with a college degree. I start training for my triathlon this coming Friday.  I will be in a swimming pool for 60 minutes after which I don't expect to be alive.  Ever tried swimming?  It's damn hard! But I am not going to get any better at it if I don't try.  I started my knitting class last night.  I think I like crocheting better but I should give it more time.

So there it is.
Short, sweet and to the point.
My Bucket List.
